PlayOk Backgammon Review

Over an apparent simplicity PlayOk backgammon is an option that is worth a try to play backgammon online. Its community is one of the greatest assets of the platform but not only. Let’s see together what PlayOk backgammon has to offer.

Presentation of PlayOk Backgammon

PlayOk backgammon is not the only game provided by the website. You will find numerous other ways to kill time like chess, checkers, dominoes, gin rami and so on. The popularity of the website is a great advantage for the players because more than 20 000 thousand people are connected on a daily basis. You won’t have any problems finding an opponent for a game on Ok Backgammon. It is possible to play as a guest but we strongly recommend creating a player profile that will allow you to keep track of your progress and your ranking.

Once your profile created, you just have to find a gaming room to play. As we said it before, the numbers of players on backgammon Play Ok are huge and you will never have to wait long to get some action. You can choose to join any game, but you also have the possibility to create your room with the rules you like.

Visually, PlayOk backgammon is nothing special, but everything is clear and well organized. You can decide what kind of game you want to play, for how many points, with the cube or not. Tournaments are also organized on a daily basis, so you can have the thrill of a real competition.

Moving the checkers around the board is very intuitive and fast. On the right side of the screen, you have access to several information, like the score, the rolls history, the time left for the game and also a chat window where you can exchange with your opponent.

All this provides a pleasant online backgammon experience for beginners and for more experienced players enjoyable on your desktop and on your mobile. The only thing we find a little bit awkward is the total absence of sound on both versions, but I am sure some of you will not be bothered by that.

Playing backgammon online is a good way to learn and improve your skill, but nothing will ever replace the feeling of playing a game on a beautiful physical board. 1. Sorry, but PlayOK is really a very poor platform. Many people are cheating here like crazy. E.g. if you play BG and – I counted that many times – you have 15:1 doubles, this has nothing to do with “luck”. There are many people you can see that. For sure, there are fair players as well, but it doe not make fun at all.
Similar for other games like hearts (had a player who could complete 5 times in one row with the first set of cards….) etc.
    Avoid this platform

      1. I love Play ok, I love backgammon And I play a year ago on the platform, you can always grow and create a little more top of heart with users but it’s good

  2. PlayOK’s random number generator is really, really bad.

Even when neither player is cheating, there’s a disproportionate number of doubles thrown, especially double 5. (These occur 2.8x the statistically probable frequency. And yes, before you bring it up, I wrote a script to analyze the dice rolls over 400 or so games. PlayOK’s random number generator is not random, period.)

There’s also the issue pointed out by Roman, above. Some players have definitely figured out how (I don’t know how) to manipulate the dice. When you play a 7 point point match & the opponent throws 3-4x the number of doubles that you do, it is rigged.

It’s a nice interface, but between the broken RNG and the cheaters, you should avoid PlayOK backgammon like the plague.

  3. The dice in playok is not real….
The contrast of hipotesy is concluyent… the chance is excessive
The players with more games…. they are favored.
Double six… only in blocked 6 move. ALL TIMES, . etc. etc. they are samples of who has to win the game.
The plataform is excelent but the dice is not right. Not aleatory. It’s a shame

  4. They manipulate the dice and also the time. Also, PlayOK’s random number generator is really bad. I cancelled my account because they are to many cheaters.

  5. I was a doubter, now I’m a believer. The dice in PlayOK are not totally random. I’ve noticed some weird stuff happen way too often than normal chance should allow. I’m not a world-class player, but I’m of decent level (I fare decently well against GnuBG, for example). I’ve noticed that on PlayOK, on some occasions some otherwise average players (by the kind of decisions they take) get a bit of nudge from lady luck at key moments over the course of a game. Enough to completely tip the balance. And when I say luck it’s not to be interpreted as though I just didn’t understand their strategy, I really mean luck as in “player gets out of 4 or 5 prime blocks on first try and then both players subsequently proceed to play an oddly perfect sequence that seems specifically aimed at reversing the outcome of the game” kind of luck, and does this multiple times over the course of a match.

I don’t mind bad luck happening on occasion, but it becomes strangely difficult to beat certain players that do nothing special strategically, but seem to always win simply due to a lucky break at just the right time. I don’t believe these players cheat or that they might even be aware that the output of the dice is just abnormally favorable to them, but I think that perhaps PlayOK has some incentives to manipulate the dice in such ways. However, I think it ruins an otherwise enjoyable game and it’s making me to seek other venues to play it.

  6. Obviously dice re rigged. And the “report” insults is a farce. I have repeatedly reported disgusting language and insults dozens of times and nothing NOTHING ever happens. Never have I seen an insulter booted. This game is neither fair or efficient. If a higher player needs a certain roll to win, it happens. Stay away
